This motorized working model was built mostly from parts included with the Serpent’s Spiral Coaster but also included gears for the drive system from several other K’NEX kits. Though it took about eight hours to complete it was great fun to build, very rewarding to watch trundling across the carpet, and is a great example of the virtually endless creative possibilities inherent in all the wonderful K’NEX Thrill Ride products. Consider this: This whole idea for building the Panther came about as I sat watching my completed Serpent’s Spiral climb the lift and thinking that, you know what, the chain lift looks a lot like the treads on a tank. That little spark is all it took. With the tremendous value and flexibility of K’NEX kits the only real limitation is your own imagination. Maybe I should motorize the turret too.

Excellent work. One suggestion, if you want to motorize the turret, trimming a
few teeth in several positions from a red toothed gear would allow the turret to
turn, then hesitate while looking at a target, then turn again seeking a target.
Gives the impression the gun is manned.
