Scorpions for Christmas 2011? PDF Print E-mail
That's right, you heard it here first. MRCHQ has been informed directly by Coaster Dynamix that they are considering what is described as a "limited re-release" of their classic and much missed Scorpion Roller Coaster Modeling System for the 2011 Holiday season. We are still waiting on full disclosure of what changes/upgrades (if any) have been made to this great coaster but we can tell you this: if released it will be in Phoenix colors and be fully compatible with Phoenix and the Phoenix/Sidewinder Expansion Pack! Check "Comments" below for further updates as they become available.

avatar More details: The "new" Scorpion will use the Phoenix molded lift track
sections and motor and will be battery operated. Cost will be around $200. The
classic Scorpion train has not been changed.

avatar In a conversation today with the owner of Coaster Dynamix it was confirmed that
they are planning a very limited re-release of their classic Scorpion Roller
Coaster Modeling System for the 2011 Holiday season. Though we will be
purchasing about 1/3 of the available Scorpion inventory, quantities will be
limited and we do expect to sell out. As of this writing, this re-release is
stated as being a one-time offer. For further information and updates as they
become available, please stop back.

avatar After speaking this morning with the owner of Coaster Dynamix we can report
that, as of today, it remains likely that we will have the new, updated Scorpion
in time for the 2011 Holiday season. We will update here when we can actually
confirm this to be a reality. Stay tuned.
afitz  - Scorpions Now Unlikely   |SAdministrator |2011-11-21 11:35:12
avatar There will be no Phoenix for the Holidays this year and now it appears that
there will be no Scorpions either. In a conversation today with principals at
Coaster Dynamix they stated that the overseas manufacturing problems which have
doomed Phoenix for the rest of 2011 have also, now, most likely prevented their
hopeful 2011 delivery of an updated Scorpion. Bummer. We'll let you know if we
hear otherwise.
afitz  - Here we go again   |SAdministrator |2012-01-10 11:02:17
avatar The latest news on Scorpion delivery from Coaster Dynamix is promising. CD is
now saying that we might actually see the updated Scorpion in 4-6 weeks. They
also leaked a bit of news on the new train. Though it will be the same basic
configuration as the classic train the color scheme will likely be white with
red accents. The track etc. will feature Phoenix colors. Sadly, Phoenix probably
won't show until the 2012 Holidays.

avatar The "new" latest news on Scorpion is that we may see them for summer
2012. Keep your fingers crossed but don't bet the farm. More as we get it.
afitz  - Wolf, wolf redux   |SAdministrator |2012-05-15 12:18:04
avatar In an extended conversation yesterday with the owner of Coaster Dynamix we were
told to expect the new improved Scorpion within the next thirty days. We'll
see..... At the same time, it still appears that we won't see any Phoenix' until
the 2012 Holiday season, if then. All for now.
